Out on a Lark

Over a month ago we met
In the hipster pastry electronic scone morning
The only birds present were you and me

You had a big cup of distraction with your responsible dessert
I had already had enough caffine and obligation.

You said you lived on a boat
I found that strange, no water

We were not able to give each other the gift of relating
The gift you gave me was better than that
Appreciation for being alone
